1. While a human blinks 20 times a minute when he isn't in front of a computer, a human in front of it blinks only 7 times a minute!

2. Radio took 38 years to reach 50 millions of users. However, television took 13 years and World Wide Web... only 4!

3. At the beggining, disks cost about 800$ and their capacity was 20MB. Now, a 2GB disk costs 7 or 8$. That's a decrease of 100 times in price and 100 times greater in capacity.

Now, we are going to tell you some myths about virus. Lots of people are victims of virus, maybe because of ignorance, curiosity or other reasons; and the information we can find about them is very huge. Despite having lots of information, we don't have to believe everything. Here are some things we have to know and some things we haven't:

Things to know:

1. In a computer, each month 6,000 new virus go inside it. We detect some of them later.

2. The first virus was created in 1986 by two brothers. They designed it to protect their investigations.

Things to forget:

1. I don't have to worry if I have a Mac or Linux computer. It's a fake, don't believe it. It's true that Mac has a prestige against virus, but every computer or laptop is vulnerable to attacks. Regarding operative systems, lots of people think that Linux is virus proof, but that's not true, because the origin of virus is rootkits. This myth has started because Microsoft users have more virus than Mac or Linux, but the reason is very simple: Microsoft has more users than the other systems, so they are more attractive to virus attacks.

2. I can't get a virus if I have an antivirus. Another fake, but this is more common. Users often tend to add more antivirus, because they think it's better for their computer. All antivirus work with files of virus, contained in data bases. In spite of having lots of files, every day new virus are created. Those new virus aren't detected by the antivirus, so they pass to infect computers.

3. Porn sites have lots of virus. Lots of people think that's true, but it's not. Last year, when Symantec presented their annual report "Internet Security Threat Report", porn sites were in the top 10 of the most dangerous sites, but they were in the 10th place. The reason is simple: money. Porn sites exist because of money, so they worry about their security, as much for them than for users.

We hope you have learnt something new. This news doesn't mean you don't have to take care of what you search, it's just that it's very easy to be in Internet with security. If you have some question, please tell us in the comments!

Great job, Irene and Sergio! I'm so proud of you and your excellent English Only one thing to comment about point 3 of your article: the porn sites mentioned in the report by Symantec are pay sites, but nothing is mentioned about the so called "free" porn sites. So let's stay on guard.
