Pablo Iglesias wants to legalize weed in Spain

Podemos' leader thinks that it will get and obtain big quantities of money to the country.

Iglesias  maintains that with the legalization the quality of drugs will be garantized, the police will work less and great revenues will be generated to improve public health.

Podemos want Spain to be the first country in Europe to legalize cannabis. Pablo Iglesias has called for "courage" to allow the use of weed for both therapeutic and recreational purposes, as he is convinced that the herb industry can bring "enormous benefits" to citizens. In a meeting with weed collectives, the Podemos'leader has explained that legalization will ensure the quality of the drug, protect minors who now smoke illegally, save in police operations against drug traffickers and the State will obtain income that will improve the quality of public health.

Iglesias defends that "Spain should be the first country in Europe to take the step"

Iglesias has indicated the day after Canada has decriminalized the use of weed. "Spain should be the first country in Europe to take the step, because it is an opportunity that can give great benefits," he added, recalling that cannabis is also legal in Uruguay and some states of the United States. What Iglesias proposes is that it is not the multinationals, but the public sector itself that controls the hypothetical new future industry of the herb so that these benefits fall on the citizenry. After consulting with associations weed, Iglesias has been convinced that once the drug is legalized and thanks to state regulation, "quality will be greater and public health will be preserved."

Podemos'leader points out that "it will generate employment, reduce consumption among teenagers and improve social services"

Iglesias has insisted on the many revenues that the legal marijuana trade will generate and has reflected: "What's wrong with what cannabis is being invested for better public health?" Podemos'leader has recognized that many drugs are criticized and even insulted and has invited them to keep their heads up, because "what really shame is that weapons are sold to bloodthirsty countries."

Podemos'leader has added that legalizing weed "will generate employment, reduce consumption among teenagers and improve social services." He also said that "you can buy two tequila's bottles and drink them at home while pursuing those who have freely decided to consume cannabis. "
