Unemployment refers to the share of the labor force that is without work but available for and seeking employment.
Spain's unemployment rate fell to 11.21% in the third quarter of 2024, the lowest since Q2 2008 and mostly in line with market expectations. The number of unemployed people decreased by 1.2 thousand from the previous three-month period to 2.754,1 million, while the number of employed individuals went up by 138.3 thousand to 21.823 million. Furthermore, the labor force participation rate increased to 59.04% during the third quarter from 58.9% in the previous period. source: National Statistics Institute (INE)

La tasa de desempleo de España cayó al 11,21% en el tercer trimestre de 2024, la más baja desde el segundo trimestre de 2008 y en gran medida en línea con las expectativas del mercado. El número de desempleados disminuyó en 1,2 mil con respecto al trimestre anterior, hasta 2.754,1 millones, mientras que el número de ocupados aumentó en 138,3 mil, hasta 21,823 millones.
